Diploma & Masters Degree Programme
The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, University of Auckland, and the Department of Civil Engineering, University of Canterbury, have been collaborating since 2002 to provide specialised Diploma and Masters Degrees in Transportation Engineering. These programmes have received financial assistance during 2002-8 from the predecessors of NZ Transport Agency who have agreed to continue to support these University programmes to 2011.
The Diploma and Masters degree programmes have been developed in consultation with the land transport industry and the engineering profession, to meet the demand for graduates with advanced skills in transportation engineering. The industry and profession will remain involved through industry liaison committees, and senior practitioners are expected to contribute to the programmes via lectures on the application of concepts and theories.
|
The Diploma and Masters degree programmes can be completed in 12 months of full-time study or up to four years of part-time study, and are to be open to those who have completed a BE, a BSc in appropriate subjects, or an approved equivalent qualification.
